Tuckpointing

Bricks last a long time.  While this is undoubtedly a good thing, it leads to one problem: bricks last longer than the mortar that holds them together.  As a result, tuck pointing, or removing and replacing the mortar between bricks is necessary periodic maintenance.  If the mortar needs help on your foundation, chimney, or other masonry surface, call or email for a complimentary consultation.

I took some pictures to illustrate the process.  I forgot to take a picture of another important in progress step:  I cut away the old mortar with a diamond blade to an even depth before adding the new mortar.
